Privacy Policy

Last Updated: December 29, 2024

At Codeffeine.dev, your privacy isn't just respected - it's built into the architecture. This policy explains my approach to data and privacy.

The TL;DR

I don't collect or store your personal data. Period.

  • All tools run locally in your browser
  • I use server-side analytics (Vercel Analytics) to count visits - no tracking cookies
  • Contact form uses Resend to email me - I don't store messages
  • Anti-spam protection uses localStorage in your browser - not cookies, not my servers
  • Future ads via Google AdSense will have their own cookies (but I don't control those)

1. What I DON'T Collect

Let's start with what I don't do, because it's shorter:

  • I don't store your contact form messages
  • I don't use cookies (the anti-spam check is localStorage, stays on your device)
  • I don't track you across the web
  • I don't have user accounts or profiles
  • I don't store any of your code or generated content
  • I don't sell data (because I don't have any to sell)

2. What Actually Happens

2.1 When You Use My Tools

Everything runs locally in your browser. Your code, your data, your CSS gradients - they never leave your device. I literally can't see what you're working on because it never touches my servers.

2.2 When You Use the Contact Form

  1. You fill out the form
  2. It goes through Resend (email service)
  3. I receive it as an email
  4. That's it. No database, no storage, no records.

Anti-spam: A localStorage check prevents rapid-fire form submissions. This happens entirely in your browser - I never see it.

2.3 When You Visit the Site

I use Vercel Analytics to track basic metrics:

  • Which pages get visited
  • How many visitors I get
  • General location (country/city level)
  • Browser and device type

This is server-side analytics - no tracking cookies in your browser. I just see aggregated numbers to understand what's useful.

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Resend (Email Delivery)

Handles contact form submissions. They deliver the email and that's it. Check their privacy policy at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

3.2 Vercel Analytics

Server-side analytics without invasive tracking. Privacy-friendly by design. Learn more at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

3.3 Google AdSense (Coming Soon)

I'll add ads to keep the site free. Google AdSense will use cookies for ad personalization. You can opt out at Google Ads Settings.

When ads go live, this will be the only thing that sets cookies on your device - and it's Google's doing, not mine.

4. Your Data Rights

Since I don't collect or store personal data, there's not much to exercise rights on. But legally, I have to tell you:

If you're in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access your data (spoiler: I don't have any)
  • Request deletion (already done - I never stored it)
  • Object to processing (nothing to object to)

If you still want to reach out, use my contact form.

5. Security

Good news: The best security is not storing data in the first place. Since everything runs locally and I don't store your information, there's nothing for hackers to steal from me.

Your work stays on your device. Always.

6. Kids

This site isn't designed for children under 13. Since I don't collect data anyway, there's nothing to worry about - but legally, I have to mention it.

7. External Links

I link to external sites sometimes. I'm not responsible for their privacy practices.

8. Changes to This Policy

If I add features that change how I handle data, I'll:

  • Update this policy
  • Change the "Last Updated" date at the top
  • Keep being transparent about it

9. GDPR Compliance

For EU folks: my legal basis for what little processing I do:

  • Analytics: Legitimate interest in understanding site usage (and it's privacy-friendly)
  • Contact form: You consent by submitting it
  • Future ads: Legitimate interest in keeping the site free (and you can opt out)

Questions about privacy?

The Bottom Line

Most developer tool sites track everything. I don't.

Your code stays on your device. Your contact messages get emailed and forgotten. My analytics are anonymous and server-side. When ads arrive, they'll be the only thing tracking you - and that's Google, not me.

Privacy-first isn't a marketing gimmick here. It's just how I built the thing.

By using Codeffeine.dev, you agree to this policy (though there's not much to agree to).
